1. Do some research on the name “Theophilus”.
2. Zechariah and Elizabeth were barren. What did that mean in their culture?
3. Zechariah is a priest who has trouble hearing and believing in God? What does that say about clergy in our time?
4. Angel means “messenger”. Zechariah didn’t recognize him. Do some research on angels in the scripture and form some beliefs about angels.

8. What does Mary ask in reply to what Gabriel tells her?
9. Does Gabriel’s message seem like a gift for Mary?
10. What if she’d said “No thanks” or “Wait until older”?
